Microsoft is seeking an AI Software Engineer to join its Dublin team working on Agent Cloud, an innovative platform empowering AI agents to operate as digital coworkers within Microsoft 365. This role offers the opportunity to build secure, scalable AI systems using state-of-the-art LLMs, integrating AI capabilities into end-user experiences through a robust Azure-based backend and React-based frontend. You'll work across disciplines and global teams to deliver next-generation enterprise AI experiences. Candidates should be passionate about deploying AI in real-world applications, with experience in LLM development, prompt engineering, and cloud-based services. This role balances deep AI innovation with hands-on software development, aimed at redefining modern productivity.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
2. 2+ years of experience with high-level languages (Python, C#, Java)
3. Proven experience developing and deploying large language models (LLMs)
4. Experience in prompt engineering and evaluation
Preferred if you have:
5. Familiarity with agent-based frameworks like Langchain or Azure AI Foundry
6. Proficiency in Python data science libraries: NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, etc.
7. Experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
8. Knowledge of React and web development
9. Experience delivering cloud SaaS solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP)
10. Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required every 2 years)

Responsibilities

1. Design, implement, and deploy AI-driven applications
2. Train and fine-tune LLMs and deep learning models
3. Build scalable, maintainable code for model pipelines
4. Optimize models for latency, cost, and performance in production
5. Use prompt engineering to improve model output and reliability
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, product, engineering)
7. Conduct experiments, analyze results, and share insights
8. Stay up to date with AI/ML advancements and integrate best practices
