Responsibilities

£35,000 – £45,000 + Vehicle / Allowance

Kent / South East – Office & Site Based

Were working with a specialist engineering contractor operating in a niche industrial space, delivering machinery installations, removals and factory relocation projects across the South East.

They are looking to bring in a minded client-facing engineer. This client-facing engineer should be able to understand how a job comes apart and how it goes back together. The client-facing engineer must also know how to cost and plan the job properly. The company does not expect the client-facing engineer to be a formed industrial Project Engineer, from the very beginning.

This role is a fit for someone who has a background in mechanical engineering and is really good at engineering. They should be happy to talk to customers and want to work on industrial projects like heavy industry. The person in this role will get to build experience, in industrial projects over time.

The Role

This job is a mix of work, commercial work and work that is done on site including:

I go to the client sites to see what needs to be done what I can do and what problems I might have with the client sites. This helps me understand the scope of the work how I can get to the things I need to and what things might get in the way of doing a job with the client sites.

When you look at machinery and equipment in a world kind of way you have to think about how machinery and equipment actually work. This means considering how machinery and equipment break down how you can lift out the parts that are not working and then how you can put everything back together again with parts to get the machinery and equipment working properly. Machinery and equipment are things that need to be understood in terms of how they can be fixed when they stop working.

Building up job costings – labour, plant, cranes, materials and time

Working closely with experienced engineers and suppliers to plan delivery

Acting as a professional, likeable point of contact for customers

As you get experience in the industry you will be able to support projects by helping to deliver them. This is something that happens when your industrial exposure grows. Supporting projects through delivery is what you will be doing. Your industrial exposure is very important, for this. It helps you to support projects and deliver them.
