The Technology Calibration & Test team is looking for an engineer who is responsible for camera metrology and instrumentation designs, which carry out calibration and performance validation of various camera systems.
Requirements
MS in CS/EE/Imaging/Physics/Optics/AppliedMath
Knowledge in one of the following: camera calibration, lidar or other depth sensor, computer vision, image processing, AI/ML, optical instrumentation
Sufficient programming experience in at least one of Matlab/Python/C++ languages
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills, with native fluency in Mandarin-Chinese and proficiency in English.
Ability to work well in a collaborative, highly multi-functional and fast pace environment.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD in CS/EE/Imaging/Physics/Optics/AppliedMath
Deep knowledge in two or more of the following: camera calibration, lidar or other depth sensor, computer vision, image processing, AI/ML, optical instrumentation
Proficient algorithm and coding skills in either one of Matlab/Python/C++ languages
Metrology system development experience
Experience of developing AI, data mining or machine learning driven system/projects
Strong problem solving capability
Responsibilities
Cooperate with cross functional and multidisciplinary teams to specify camera FMEA risk, develop and deploy calibration and performance validations stations to reduce camera product risks throughout the NPI cycle
Work with equipment vendors to design the perfect equipment from scratch for calibrating and verifying the performance of Apple products
Specify and acquire instruments, components and tools for use in an NPI environment
Run simulations or experiments to make data driven decisions and present results to senior management
Design, develop, debug and optimize algorithms to meet with accuracy and precision requirement for camera calibration and performance verification
Generate reports that analyze large amounts of NPI camera performance data, and present at both working level and executive level meetings
Up to 10% domestic and international traveling
