CE Application Service Engineer
Microsoft is seeking a Global Critical Environment (CE) Application Service Engineer to join its Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team. In this fully remote role, you will be the subject matter expert for data center Building Automation Systems (BAS) or Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS). Your responsibilities include system troubleshooting, upgrades, security implementation, and vendor service management. You’ll proactively use telemetry and control data to enhance availability, sustainability, and efficiency of Microsoft’s global data center infrastructure. This position allows you to work closely with a diverse engineering team in a high-impact environment supporting Microsoft’s cloud services like Azure, Office 365, and Xbox. With over 200 data centers worldwide, this is a rare opportunity to contribute to the core infrastructure behind one of the world’s largest cloud providers.

Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
2. 2+ years in software, service, or systems engineering
3. 1+ years of HMI development in BAS or EPMS
4. Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check
5. Experience with communication protocols (e.g., BACnet, IEC61850, OPC UA)
6. Proficiency in Python, Java, C#, PowerShell or similar languages
7. Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, telemetry, and automation tools
8. Project management and multitasking skills
