Clinical Operations Area Head, EU
Roche is seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Area Head to oversee clinical trial execution across the European Union region. This senior leadership role connects country clinical operations teams with global study leadership to ensure timely, high-quality, and efficient delivery of clinical studies. You will lead multi-country teams, drive operational excellence, and champion compliance, all while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. The role is instrumental in achieving Roche’s ambition of delivering 20 transformative medicines by 2029. Requirements
1. Broad experience in clinical research, especially in regional or global trial operations
2. Proven leadership of multi-country clinical teams with strong outcomes
3. Advanced degree in a related field (PhD, MD, PharmD, or MSc preferred)
4. Strong skills in people leadership, coaching, and talent development
5. Ability to analyze performance metrics and use data to drive strategy
6. Exceptional communication and cross-cultural collaboration abilities
7. Experience managing complexity in matrixed organizations

Responsibilities
1. Lead and oversee clinical trial delivery across multiple EU countries
2. Act as the liaison between country teams and global study leadership
3. Monitor key performance indicators and optimize study execution using data
4. Identify operational barriers and implement strategic solutions
5. Represent regional clinical teams in global forums
6. Ensure quality, compliance, and efficiency in clinical trial processes
7. Collaborate with global functional heads, senior leaders, and stakeholders
8. Develop team capability and promote a culture of continuous improvement
