Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Consultant - Operational Risk Management to join its Commercial Financial Services practice. In this role, you will manage client relationships, deliver strategic risk management solutions, and drive the implementation of operational risk frameworks for major financial institutions. You’ll lead project workstreams, develop effective risk controls, and assess compliance with regulatory requirements while advising executive stakeholders. The position requires strong analytical and communication skills, experience in risk identification and mitigation, and familiarity with regulatory compliance for large banks. As part of a collaborative and high-performance consulting team, you’ll also mentor junior staff, influence change within client organizations, and contribute to continuous process improvement. This hybrid position involves frequent collaboration at client sites (approximately three days per week) and travel up to 75%. Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in banking or commercial financial services consulting.
3. Proven knowledge of operational risk management and regulatory compliance.
4. Experience in process mapping and control assessments.
5. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
6. Ability to travel frequently (up to 75%) and work onsite 3 days per week.
7. Preferred: MBA, PMP, ACCA, Lean Six Sigma, or CIS certifications.

Responsibilities
1. Identify, assess, monitor, and report operational risks across business processes.
2. Evaluate and enhance internal controls to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
3. Support clients in implementing risk management frameworks and policies.
4. Conduct workshops and interviews to uncover and mitigate risk exposures.
5. Communicate findings and influence business process improvements.
6. Lead and mentor consultants to ensure quality deliverables and engagement success.
7. Prepare risk reports and presentations for executive stakeholders.
