Data Platform Engineer (HPC)
Sanofi is seeking a Data Platform Engineer (HPC) to help drive its scientific research initiatives through robust, scalable cloud infrastructure. Based in Toronto, you will collaborate with R&D teams to design, deploy, and maintain high-performance cloud environments using AWS and other modern tools. This role bridges scientific research with cloud engineering, supporting data-intensive applications in hybrid and containerized environments. You’ll ensure secure and compliant operations while optimizing the performance of complex scientific workflows. Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5-7 years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering.
Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, VPC, FSx, EKS, S3, IAM).
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
Strong understanding of networking (subnetting, routing, DNS, VPNs, etc.).
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and HPC schedulers (e.g., Slurm).
Scripting abilities (Python or Bash).
Familiarity with scientific workflows and applications (Nextflow, RStudio, Schrödinger, CryoSPARC, etc.).
Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer).
Knowledge of cloud-native security and policy-as-code tools.
