Data Scientist
Guidehouse is looking for a Data Scientist to support its AI and Data Defense & Security team, particularly within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This role involves leading the development of automated processes, data analytics, and visualization tools to enhance mission outcomes and operational efficiency. You’ll design and implement solutions using Power BI, Power Automate, PowerApps, R, and SQL. The ideal candidate is a U.S. citizen with strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, along with at least three years of experience in data science or data visualization. This position offers the opportunity to engage in impactful federal projects, lead technical efforts, and contribute to data-driven decision-making for national security initiatives.
Travel Required Up to 10% of the time

Requirements
1. U.S. Citizenship
2. Bachelor’s degree
3. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data science, analytics, or visualization
4. Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
5. Experience leading automation or analytics development teams
6. Familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, PowerApps, R, and SQL
7. Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
8. Experience in data architecture or warehousing
9. Knowledge of quality assurance and debugging processes
10. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
1. Design and develop process improvement solutions using tools like Power Automate and PowerApps
2. Create dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI
3. Write SQL queries and R scripts for data cleaning and extraction
4. Analyze current processes and identify improvement opportunities
5. Support client meetings, documentation, and communication tasks
6. Ensure compliance with data governance and quality standards
7. Present findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders
8. Summarize and report on process improvement initiatives
