Zapier's Integrations team is on a mission to ensure that Zapier has integrations for the AI apps in the market, and to expand and maintain the by Zapier tools. This team has a close relationship with top stakeholders in the industry to keep up with the new AI apps launched every day. This role offers a unique opportunity to guide a team working on high-visibility, high-impact projects that are fundamental to Zapier's mission of democratizing automation. You'll collaborate with product and engineering leaders across the company to evolve our editor from a powerful tool into an indispensable platform that our users can't imagine working without.

Requirements

You are a skilled engineering leader. You've got a strong background in leading a team of Engineers working in our stack (ideally Typescript & JavaScript, with a side helping of Python, Django, AWS infrastructure). You understand how your team’s services work and can provide feedback on designs proposed by your engineers. You hold a high standard for operational excellence, monitoring service health and addressing issues.

You are energized by platforms and integrations. You understand the power and challenge of building against APIs. You are passionate about making integration development easier, faster, and more reliable—especially when AI can augment or accelerate this work.

You’re passionate about AI’s potential in engineering workflows. You’re excited about a world where tools like generative AI improve developer experience, automate common maintenance tasks, and help expand the integration ecosystem with less manual work.

You are an effective team builder. This isn't your first rodeo. You have at least four years of experience managing teams of at least 5 engineers Backend & Frontend Engineers. You know how to hire, train, and develop engineers from all backgrounds. You understand the benefits of building a diverse and inclusive engineering team.

You are energized by no-code innovation. You see the transformative potential in making automation accessible to everyone, and you bring that enthusiasm to your partnerships with product and design teams. Your engineering expertise gives you unique insights into building powerful yet intuitive no-code tools. You're excited about the intersection of automation and emerging technologies like generative AI, and you're eager to explore how these advances can empower users to build more sophisticated workflows with less complexity.

You can keep track of, prioritize, and lead multiple projects. There's no shortage of things you could be doing in a day. You'll carve out time for functional projects and make sure they solve real problems the team faces -- ideally making development even easier.

You have excellent communication skills. You regularly work with engineers and other stakeholders from various disciplines, balancing engineering concerns, such as technical debt, with product concerns. Ideally, you find solutions that address both the team and user needs, but if not, help build understanding around difficult decisions.

You have experience with experimentation. Utilizing experiments to drive continuous improvements. These include a combination of bold changes and smaller improvements. You understand how to optimize for rapid experimentation and follow-up iteration.

You have a service/platform mindset. You understand that shipping new functionality in this space involves collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, and building functionality in such a way that it can be reused across multiple product verticals.

A Candidate's compensation package is finalized once the interview process is concluded and accounts for demonstrated experience, job knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal equity. We use a business impact approach to base pay, which means we set pay for all Zapiens based on their demonstrated impact on Zapier’s success. In alignment with that philosophy, the upper half of a pay range is typically reserved for individuals who have consistently demonstrated a high impact in their current role and level while at Zapier.
