Gas Support Officer
Capita is seeking an experienced Gas Support Officer to provide technical information, guidance, and safety advice across the gas industry and to the general public. This role is central to maintaining and improving safety standards, supporting Gas Safe Register operations, and promoting compliance with relevant regulations. Working remotely, you’ll respond to enquiries, deliver accurate technical advice, and contribute to technical publications and bulletins that uphold the integrity of the UK gas safety framework. The ideal candidate will bring at least eight years of industry experience, deep knowledge of gas systems and health and safety regulations, and strong communication skills. Requirements
1. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the gas industry.
2. City & Guilds / NVQ qualification in gas service engineering.
3. Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) proof of competence.
4. Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and legislation.
5. Understanding of Building Regulations and health & safety standards.
6. Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
7. Ability to research, analyse, and communicate technical information.
8. Strong IT literacy and data handling abilities.

Responsibilities
1. Provide technical advice and support to stakeholders and the public.
2. Respond to phone, email, and written enquiries on gas safety and ACS issues.
3. Research, write, and edit technical articles, publications, and bulletins.
4. Support other Gas Safe Register departments with technical queries.
5. Ensure compliance with legislation and gas industry standards.
6. Review and update technical content in response to regulatory changes.
7. Provide coverage for other Technical Officers as needed.
8. Promote awareness of the Gas Safe Register and gas safety standards.
