Full Time Senior Business Development Remote

Toptal is seeking an accomplished General Manager, Management Consulting to build and scale a new high-impact consulting business line. This senior leadership role blends strategy, innovation, and hands-on execution to drive growth across Toptal’s global network. The GM will define the consulting vision, establish go-to-market strategies, and develop operational frameworks that ensure profitability and scalability. Working cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Talent Operations, and Sales, you will lead efforts to identify market opportunities, achieve product-market fit, and create sustainable client relationships. As a strategic leader and executional driver, you’ll oversee business performance, own the P&L, and optimize processes to achieve revenue, margin, and pipeline goals. The ideal candidate brings deep management consulting expertise, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to lead through ambiguity while delivering measurable business impact. This is a fully remote position open to U.S.-based candidates authorized to work at the time of hire.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred (MBA or related field).
2. 10+ years in business or management consulting with P&L ownership.
3. 3+ years leading a business or division with measurable revenue impact.
4. Proven success launching or scaling new services or business lines.
5. Experience in professional services, technology, or hyper-growth environments.
6. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
7. Familiarity with marketing automation tools, CRMs, and financial analysis.
8. Management consulting background (McKinsey, Bain, BCG) preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Build and scale Toptal’s Management Consulting business line.
2. Define and execute go-to-market and operational strategies.
3. Own full P&L accountability and drive profitability.
4. Analyze markets to identify and validate new opportunities.
5. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure operational readiness.
6. Lead client engagement and strengthen commercial relationships.
7. Establish KPIs, analytics, and feedback loops for continuous improvement.
8. Represent Toptal in client discussions, industry events, and leadership forums.
