Roche is seeking a Global Clinical Operations Excellence Lead to join its Clinical Operations Excellence group in Welwyn, Hertfordshire. In this strategic role, you will drive the efficiency, quality, and innovation of clinical trial delivery as part of Roche’s commitment to bring 20 transformative medicines to patients by 2029. You’ll lead key initiatives across study systems, including Interactive Response Technology (IRT) and electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA), and ensure process excellence, compliance, and the adoption of new technologies such as AI. Working cross-functionally with teams in Quality, Early R&D, and external vendors, you will influence global infrastructure projects and act as a mentor to peers. This role requires deep expertise in clinical operations and a passion for continuous improvement. Requirements

1. Significant experience in clinical trial operations, including systems, compliance, process, or vendor management
2. Expertise in clinical infrastructure activities (e.g., IRT, eCOA, audit readiness)
3. In-depth knowledge of ICH, GCP, and relevant regulatory guidelines
4. Experience leading or contributing to global clinical trial infrastructure projects
5. Strong strategic thinking and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives
6. Proven ability to mentor and coach less experienced colleagues
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. Degree in a relevant field (medical, life sciences, or related discipline)

Responsibilities

1. Lead the implementation and monitoring of program-wide study systems (IRT, eCOA)
2. Design and execute clinical operations infrastructure strategies across global teams
3. Manage process excellence and drive compliance with GCP/GVP standards
4. Collaborate across departments (Quality, Early R&D, Vendors) to improve efficiency
5. Promote innovation through the adoption of AI and data-driven approaches
6. Drive continuous improvement and change management initiatives
7. Ensure clinical trials are audit- and inspection-ready
8. Provide mentoring and informal leadership within the Clinical Operations team
