Requirements

To be a Network Authority at Vodafone you need to have these skills:

You need to have least 5 years of experience working with big internet networks. You should know about Domain Name System, IP Address Management, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, RADIUS and LDAP.

You need to know about DNS security, DDoS mitigation and caching architectures.

You need to understand RADIUS Authentication, Authorization and Accounting.

You need to be good at Linux system administration and scripting in Bash or Python.

You need to be good at monitoring our network and fixing problems.

You need to be able to think and ask tough questions.

You need to be flexible and able to do things at the same time.

It is also good if you have:

A university degree in technology like engineering or computer science.

Certificates like CCNP, JNCIP or RHCE are a plus.

Experience with things like BIND, Unbound, PowerDNS, Akamai, Infoblox or Radiator is helpful.

You should be interested, in technologies and what is happening in the telecom industry.

Responsibilities

As a Network Authority you will be part of our Network Operations Team at Vodafone. You will help keep our Mobile, International, Fixed Broadband DNS and Fixed Broadband RADIUS infrastructure running. You will work with applications and platforms and make sure our DNS and RADIUS platforms are always available and working well. You will help our international customers.

You will be in charge when there are problems or incidents. You will work with technical experts in the UK and around the world. You will look at ideas and projects and check how our DNS and RADIUS platforms are doing for our customers.

What will you be doing?

You will take care of our DNS and RADIUS solutions. These solutions use things like FreeRADIUS 389 LDAP Directory replication, AnswerX, Unbound, CacheServe and BIND.

You will lead the team when there are incidents. You will try to find ways to improve our operations and prevent problems.

You will test features and upgrades to make sure they work well.

You will look for ways to automate our work using scripts, applications or tools we already have.

You will be in charge of projects that affect DNS or RADIUS. You will check the plans. Make sure they work with our operations.

You will work with teams to make sure our network is always improving and growing.

You will help your teammates learn things and share your knowledge with them.

You will be on call sometimes to help with problems outside of work hours.
