Requirements
Five years experience as a Warehouse Operations Manager within a busy logistics environment managing a team of 60+
Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management and legislation
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to organise and train direct reports
Computer literate with a practical knowledge of logistics software program's and packages
Analytical, with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
A recognised qualification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics will be preferred and well-received
Responsibilities
To strategically manage all warehouse, distribution and maintenance activities in line with DHL's policies and vision, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of all functions, performance and productivity, ensuring safe and cost-effective methods are a priority consideration
I need to manage the work of the people who report to me. This means I have to make sure all of their schedules and records are current and follow the rules of the company and the laws of the UK. The company policies and UK legislation are very important to follow. I also have to make sure everyone is working safely and following working practices. This is crucial, for the business. I have to stay on top of the coordination of my direct reports to ensure that everything runs smoothly. The daily coordination of reports is a big part of my job.
We need to check and look at the warehouse rules and steps and systems to make sure that the site is working as well as it can and, at its best level. The warehouse policies and procedures and systems should be reviewed all the time to ensure the site is operating at efficiency and optimum level. This means the warehouse policies and procedures and systems have to be evaluated.
Indirect management of all areas of the logistics Centre
Active involvement in defining and overseeing KPIs
I will make sure that the right steps are taken to deal with problems that have happened. This means starting and overseeing the use of countermeasures to disruptions that have occurred and making sure that these countermeasures are put into place to address disruptions that have occurred.
