Senior Applied Scientist

Microsoft’s Business and Industry Copilots group, part of the Dynamics 365 ecosystem, is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to lead innovation in AI and enterprise systems. This role will focus on designing and evaluating intelligent agents using advanced techniques like reinforcement learning and instruction tuning to improve system performance in accuracy, latency, and cost. You’ll drive experimentation, evaluation, and integration of large language models (LLMs) into real-world, AI-native business applications. The ideal candidate has strong NLP and LLM experience, particularly in fine-tuning models, integrating them with tools and APIs, and applying prompt and context engineering. Working in a cross-functional, hybrid team, you’ll help shape the next generation of enterprise AI solutions, contributing to Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and organization on the planet.
