Job Summary

I work as a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, for the FC Operations team, which is also known as the PXT team. I am part of the LCY3 Human Resources Team.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
Knowledge of local labor law
Experience as a human resource generalist
Experience with specific knowledge of human resource theory, functions and practice, performance appraisal systems and staff development
Experience supporting hourly employee client group
Experience with MS Office tools and HR Information Systems
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Human Resources Management
Experience assessing management and executive talent
Experience developing and administering HR compensation plans
Experience in human resources with companies supporting 250-500 or more associates

Responsibilities

The Amazon Human Resources team really loves working with parts of the company. You will report to the Regional Human Resources Manager. Your job will be very important in making sure the Human Resources plan works at our delivery stations in the South. You will work closely with the people who run the operations at many different sites in your area. You will give the Amazon delivery stations and area managers advice and support on things that make sense for the business and for the employees. The Amazon Human Resources team will help the operations teams and other support teams at the delivery stations. You will give advice to the people who manage the delivery stations and other teams. The Human Resources plan is very important, to the Amazon team. You will use your communication skills and your ability to coach and influence people to get employees excited, about their work and handle changes. This will help us keep teams of employees who are motivated and can provide a service to our customers. We want our employees to be happy and do a job so our customers are happy too.

Key job responsibilities

Drive Associate engagement programs, acting as Employee Relations Subject Matter Expert, monitor Associate feedback to drive effective employee relations, retention and reward programs

Manage labor relations if applicable and complex cases with both internal and external parties, while integrating legislative shifts into HR policy and practices

To make plans that work for people and the business we need to really understand how the people we hire fit into what the business is trying to do. We also need to know how to help these people grow and get better at what they do. This way we can meet the needs of the business. Make sure our people are happy and doing a good job. We have to think about the people and make plans that work for them so they can help the business succeed.

Coordinate with management to build and execute recruitment of middle and senior management, on boarding, training and development initiatives

Facilitate and manage the talent review process and succession planning in partnership with management

Draw insights from data to improve processes, employee engagement and policy alignment across the business

I am, in charge of managing and deploying Human Resources projects. These Human Resources projects can be really tough. I also lead change initiatives. This means I help the company try things. For example I implement tools and technology. The goal of these tools and technology is to provide better support to the people who matter the stakeholders. I want to make sure the stakeholders get the help they need from the Human Resources team.

A day in the life

As a HR Business Partner you will use your knowledge of Amazons Leadership Principles and values to help Senior Operations Managers, Operations Managers and Functional Heads. You will work with them on things, like Coaching plans, team meetings and employee development. You will also help with promotions. Show what our leadership principles look like in real life when you talk to employees and leaders. You will really live Amazons Leadership Principles when you are working with the Senior Operations Managers, Operations Managers and Functional Heads.

Organisational Development And Planning

You will work closely with your operational partners to figure out what the company wants to achieve. To do this you need to understand all the important numbers and information about the business. You will use this information to decide what to focus on in the human resources department and set targets for yourself. You will also give your thoughts on how the company should be organised, including information about the people who work here who might be ready, for a role and who might be thinking of leaving.

Organisational Health

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner you will work on projects that make the workplace better help employees feel more involved and keep them from leaving. You will look into things to see what is going on and find any problems with how people get along at work or with the work environment. Then you will tell people what you found and come up with a plan to fix these problems. As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner you will also look into problems between employees and management at the work site. Sometimes with other people in the company, in the United Kingdom. You will do this by talking to managers and other people to figure out what is going on and what to do about it. You will also help with getting network compliance initiatives started. This means you will need to understand employment law and legislation changes and then use that knowledge to give advice to the business on its own. The business needs to know what it can. Cannot do when it comes to local employment law and legislation changes. You will be the one to tell the business about these things. The goal is to make sure the business is following the rules of employment law and legislation changes. You will be doing this work on your own so you will need to be able to figure things out by yourself. This is important because local employment law and legislation changes can affect the business in ways.

Workforce Planning and Recruitment

As a HR Business Partner, you will be in charge of hiring new people for the company. You will work closely with the heads of departments to make sure you find the right people for the job. You might also be part of interviews that take place at our sites or with people from the UK network. Sometimes you will even interview people who're at the same level as you.

You will use your influence to help make hiring decisions. If people do not agree on something you will be able to help resolve the issue and find a solution that works for everyone especially when it comes to hiring decisions, for Senior HR Business Partner roles and other positions.
