Sr. Director, Head of Application Architecture
OpenText is seeking a visionary Senior Director, Head of Application Architecture to lead the strategic modernization of its enterprise application portfolio. Reporting directly to the SVP & Chief Architect, this high-impact role will drive the architectural transformation of legacy systems into cloud-native, AI-powered, platform-aligned solutions. You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to shape OpenText’s next generation of enterprise software. Requirements
12+ years of experience in enterprise application architecture, large-scale system design, and product innovation
Proven success in modernizing legacy applications into cloud-native SaaS architectures
Expertise in modern application patterns: multi-tenant SaaS, modular architecture, API-first design, cloud deployment models
Experience in designing customer migration strategies for hybrid environments
Familiarity with AI-native architecture patterns such as RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), LLM (Large Language Model) integration
Strong understanding of platform convergence and reuse strategies
Proven ability to lead through influence across complex, matrixed organizations
Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
Deep knowledge of security, compliance, and enterprise architecture principles
Hands-on experience delivering scalable systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)

Responsibilities
Define and lead application modernization strategy across OpenText’s enterprise software portfolio
Develop architectural patterns, migration toolkits, and best practices for transforming legacy applications at scale
Align application design with enterprise architecture standards and platform services
Govern application design for customer migration, ensuring secure and seamless coexistence strategies
Partner with business units to influence product roadmaps and delivery priorities
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and GTM teams
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on architectural direction and modernization impact
Drive platform convergence and reduction of duplication across application teams
Champion architectural innovation with a focus on AI-native and cloud-native design
Promote a strong architecture culture through mentorship, documentation, and governance
