US Commercial AI External Partnership
Pfizer is seeking a strategic and highly experienced Senior Director of US Commercial AI External Partnerships to lead benchmarking and partnership efforts for its Commercial AI division. This role acts as a key connector between Pfizer and external AI leaders, vendors, and competitors, driving strategic decisions that elevate AI capabilities and accelerate innovation. You'll assess emerging trends, identify best practices, and guide investment in cutting-edge tools and technologies. Working closely with cross-functional teams, Procurement, Engineering, Product, and Compliance, you’ll help shape Pfizer’s AI strategy with evidence-based recommendations. Ideal candidates bring deep experience in commercial strategy, AI ecosystems, and vendor management. This is a highly visible leadership role that reports to Pfizer’s AIA Leadership Team and works closely with senior stakeholders across the organization.
Requirements
1. 12+ years in commercial strategy, market intelligence, or related roles—preferably in tech or AI-driven environments
2. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, AI, or related field
3. Proven experience managing vendor relationships and external partnerships
4. Familiarity with AI/ML platforms, industry benchmarks, and emerging technologies
5. Strong research, communication, and strategic planning skills
6. Preferred: MBA or experience in AI-focused or commercial strategy roles

1. Base salary range: $204,700 – $341,100

Responsibilities
1. Develop a benchmarking strategy and metrics to assess AI performance against industry peers
2. Identify external trends, vendors, and innovations that drive AI capabilities forward
3. Partner with Procurement to evaluate and source AI/ML vendors, tools, and infrastructure
4. Conduct research on competitor advancements and present findings to senior leadership
5. Support strategic planning, investment decisions, and product roadmaps with data-driven insights
6. Collaborate with internal teams (product, engineering, compliance) to align AI strategy with business goals
7. Lead the development of dashboards and reports on AI performance and opportunities
8. Drive innovation velocity through external benchmarking and proof-of-concept testing
